Leadership and Management Commitment

Effective leadership is vital to the success of HSE control program. Management leadership lays the foundation upon which a solid program is built and reflects Management commitment for its implementation. Element 1 sets the standard for the effective Management leadership of HSE aspects in MOISS organization.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Policies are established, communicated and periodically updated.
    Establish and implement HSE Management Systems. 
  • Clarity, definition and documentation of HSE roles and responsibility assignments for relevant employees and contractors are provided from day one in job description.
  • Managers demonstrate commitment for improving HSE performance through leadership and active visible HSE participation.
  • Employees are encouraged to communicate opportunities for improved HSE performance.
  • Managers plan by reviewing operations, evaluating risks/opportunities, setting measurable objectives, developing action plans and reporting annual achievements.
  • HSE Performance indicators are established and measured.
  • Individual and team contributions to HSE performance are recognized and considered during employee performance reviews.
  • Procedures exist at all levels to encourage transfer of good HSE systems, programs, procedures, practices and technology.
  • Contractor selection includes review of contractor HSE-MS and HSE performance.
  • Management reviews HSE success and incorporates improvements into HSE-MS.
